Ocean Zen in OT
Funded Aug 15, 2024My students and I have enjoyed our space so much this school year!!! We have a cozier, more welcoming environment thanks to your support.
The students have all noticed our new wall/floor decals, the rug, bubble curtains, and unicorn diffuser. They love all the new and have all mentioned something they like about our new stuff! They now have a bulletin board to decorate and display all their hard work. The students are able to independently obtain materials, and use the equipment with more ease now that we have an organized space.
With your help, our therapy room is a little more organized and more welcoming to everyone.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Saenz

Funded Jul 5, 2024The students were so excited for our new rug the moment they walked into our room. We have used it many times since the beginning of the year to complete floor time exercises and activities. It is most of my student's favorite spot to do therapy sessions!
The rug has not only made our space more inviting and feel refreshed, but also provided a cozy corner for my students to learn. One student in particular calls it her "comfy ocean" and requests to have a few minutes there before going back to her class.
Thank you once more for helping me create a space that is comfortable, welcoming and inviting for all my students who work so hard to reach their goals!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Saenz

Funded Jul 5, 2024With the supplies provided by you my students and I have been practicing handwriting. The paper, stamps, books, and grippers have provided my students with much needed adaptations that have facilitated their writing. In one particular case, I have been able to expand more options with cursive handwriting with a student who is now excited to use our new paper and workbook. He has asked for extra paper to practice during his "choice time" within the classroom!
The students have all been more interested in practicing their writing skills (which in general is not their favorite activity). Many of them had never seen all the modifications that are possible, in spite of having visual processing difficulties. They are now aware and able to utilize these tools that are meant to help them learn. You have opened up more opportunities and options for my students who struggle with visual motor skills.
My next goal will be to assist the transition between therapy room and classroom. So that my students carry on their new skills and equipment into their learning wherever that may be. I'm excited to see their handwriting become more and more legible, their ideas put into paper and their excitement for writing grow!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Saenz
