A JAGtastic Family

My project "A JAGtastic Family" allowed for my classroom to be a warm and inviting for my students. They are able to feel at home when they enter. During independent work, the students are able to lounge on the bean bags or on the futon. While it seems very similar to flexible seating, the idea is more for the family atmosphere that JAG encourages Specialists to adopt for their classroom. The rug and the curtains add a special touch for the spirit of Wolverine Nation. The students enjoyed using the futon and curtains as the space for their state officer videos.

Just this past week, we have dealt with the loss of a beloved coach. I was asked to hold another coach's class. The students, while not JAG students, really needed a space like our JAG room to cope with their emotions. They were able to space out around the room and just be for the time in my room.
