Funded Jun 1, 2024The silent sliders has been a wonderful tool used in the classroom. The tennis balls were attached before the start of the school year. This year I created a new seating arrangement of the desks, and these sliders made that process very smooth. In regards to their impact on a daily basis, the sliders have made forming varied sized groups much easier. Currently, in my English class the students are engaging in small group guided reading. The transition to and from the small groups is much smoother and less noisy.
Students that I had last year really liked the new sliders and were jealous they didn't have them last year to use. The sliders give a nice Halloween aesthetic because the tennis balls are black and I have an orange accent wall too.
One upcoming project for my Advisory students is a collection of SEL literature, games, and manipulatives to use in building their self-awareness and self-regulation skills.”
With gratitude,
