  • Headphones + Sound = Improved Learning Success

    Funded Aug 30, 2024

Before receiving the headphones, the sound from a classroom of computers was very distracting, especially when students needed to concentrate for tests to show mastery of skills. They were having to keep the sound down to avoid distracting others but couldn't always hear their programs. Having a set of classroom headphones has made a huge difference with attention, concentration, and learning for my students. Students are now more able to stay focused on required computer tasks and on computer tests, and scores have gone up.

Students that can't afford to bring supplies to school now have an important tool to help them learn. Thank you for your generous donations. This has made a world of difference for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Irons

  • Feeding the Bodies, Minds, and Hearts of Low-Income Students

    Funded May 30, 2024

Your contributions to this project have meant a great deal to my low-income students, that for many, don't even get the basic necessities at home and depend on the school to be able to eat during the week. Prizes, stickers, and fruit snacks are a luxury that my students don't experience very often.

When they saw the donated items, they were SO excited! Many gasped, the class cheered, and some students kept asking if they were really for them!

Reading is the new best thing! Students that never cared about reading are reading multiple books each night with their parents in order to earn prizes during the week. Now that my students know that they can earn a sticker or prize for good behavior, they immediately do what is asked, are making great choices, and are creating good behavior habits. The students love the scratch-and-sniff stickers. Grades are on the rise, homework is completed, and students look in their folder each day to see the stickers they received. Many are saving them. We have a late lunch at 1:30 p.m. Most don't bring a snack, and they are hungry. The fruit snacks bring a smile to their faces and help them focus.

Thanks again. This has meant the world to my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Irons
