  • Music FUN...damentals

    Funded Oct 8, 2024

This donation has been used everyday since we received the books. The students both in concert band and in jazz band have been using these books as a great resource. I believe the blue books have vastly improved my students intonation, tone, and technical ability.

The students were excited to start learning more technical skills. The students have a good time playing scales. They take home the books to practice and further their musicianship skills.

The exercises in the books provide a wide range of warm-ups.

Thank you so much for the donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melgoza

  • "Trumpets, Mutes In"

    Funded Dec 21, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! The mutes will come in handy when we start our jazz band this upcoming semester. They will also come in handy when the students play during normal concert band. The students will be very excited to learn about the donation.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melgoza

  • Keep the Band Fed!

    Funded Aug 19, 2024

Thank you so much for your support and generosity. The students at my school were greatly excited to hear about the materials funded from this project. The canopy from the project is being used greatly every afterschool rehearsal, as the students are using it for shade and for cover when it's rain or shine. The grill unfortunately had to be sent back due to admin rules but nonetheless your generousness has been greatly appreciated by the staff and students here in our music program.

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melgoza

  • Keep the band hydrated

    Funded Aug 19, 2024

Thank you for your generous donations from the "keep the band hydrated" project. The students were very happy to find out that there would be water bottles and coolers filled with water during practice. The coolers and water bottles were used every time we had an afterschool practice, for competitions, football games, and when we have our band banquets.

It is super useful as we have a water hose that has a filter connected to it right outside our band room which is very convenient when the coolers need filling up for the students.

The materials will be used year-round and will continue to be a great resource for water for the kiddos.

    Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

  • Reed Care, help prevent squeaks.

    Funded Aug 19, 2024

It has been a tremendous blessing to be donated better quality reeds for my woodwind players. When the reeds arrived they were very excited and curious, they call the new reeds "fancy reeds." My woodwinds had so many questions about reeds that I held a mini-lesson for them on reed care and the importance of reeds.

As the students began to open and use their new reeds they noticed that they described them to be smooth, easier to play on and they produce a better tone. Now that we have access to better reeds, I plan to assign a small project for all my wind players. It would be a project on understanding pitch tendencies on their instrument. I have been wanting to do this for a while but thought it would be unfair to the woodwind players since they were not playing on quality reeds.

Thank you again for your generous donation! We appreciate it very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Melgoza
