Science Stop Motion Animation

Funded Jun 27, 2024

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donations towards our smart tablets, which have become an invaluable tool in my science classroom. Your support has enabled our students to engage with the fascinating world of science, in particular, the process of Photosynthesis, in a way that bridges traditional learning with modern technology. You might not be aware of how transformative these devices can be in an educational setting. The tablets have opened up new avenues for creative expression and collaboration among students and their peers, as well as, allowing students to visualize complex processes and engage with the material on a deeper level.

The excitement surrounding the smart tablets is palpable among my students. They have taken to creating stop motion animations to illustrate their understanding of photosynthesis, and the results have been nothing short of amazing. This hands-on approach to learning has ignited their passion for science and encouraged them to explore their creativity while mastering essential concepts. The process of bringing their ideas to life through animation has made learning fun and interactive. It has fostered a sense of ownership over their education, as students enthusiastically share their projects with peers and even the school community.

Particularly rewarding has been witnessing students who previously struggled with traditional methods of learning flourish with this new technology. Also, rewarding is seeing students that do not have tablets or smart phones themselves, took to the use of the class set of tablets very well. I had several students, in particular, who always hesitate to engage in class discussions and are very quiet and typically do not verbally participate in class, became deeply invested in the animation process. They've found a unique way to express their understanding of scientific concepts, and the confidence this has instilled in them is remarkable. They were very proud of their animations and the their classmates were also impressed and gave them positive praise for their videos. It is these success stories that reinforce the importance of your contributions, as you are helping to make science accessible and enjoyable for all students. Thank you once again for your support; we truly could not have achieved this without you!”

With gratitude,

Mr. Soileau
