Let's Get Cookin'!
Funded May 28, 2024I want to thank you all for your generous donations. We're beginning our 5th week of school and each item has already contributed to a more functional kitchen. In addition, the items you donated have allowed students to put theory to practice, explore meal prep with authentic supplies, and make some truly delicious food.
The refrigerator has allowed our class to be more self-sufficient- no more back and forth to get ingredients from the main kitchen. The insta-pots have given us the time to make soups that would otherwise take too long for a class period. The pasta makers have provided the opportunity for students to learn that pasta does not have to come out of a box and that with a few simple ingredients anyone can enjoy fresh homemade pasta.
The blenders and food processors are kitchen workhorses and the addition of these to our kitchen helps distribute workload responsibilities.
Your investment in this classroom assures equity among the students, promotes the idea that good food does not have to fancy or unattainable, and that some effort does equate to a worthy product ( or if doesn't the first time, it will with practice)
Thank you for supporting this class. The students and I are humbled and so very
grateful.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Shaw
