  • Healing Trauma Through Building Resilience and Embracing Family Quality Time

    Funded Sep 7, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of therapy games. The games have provided a unique and engaging way to build trust, foster connection, and promote a sense of safety which are critical elements for healing, particularly for children and families working through trauma. One of the most powerful aspects of these games is how they create an environment where students can express themselves more freely, without the pressure of direct confrontation. Many of the children I work with have faced significant trauma, and these games provide a non-threatening way to help them process their emotions, learn coping strategies, and gradually open up to their family members. I have witnessed children and parents working together to problem-solve, share their feelings, and even laugh together—all of which are vital for rebuilding trust and connection in the aftermath of trauma.

The positive changes I have seen in my students and their families would not have been possible without the thoughtful and meaningful contribution you've made. You've not only provided them with a fun and interactive tool, but you've also helped create opportunities for healing and growth that will have a lasting impact. On behalf of my students and their families, thank you again for your kindness and generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Aceves

  • Wellness Wrap-Up: Final Farewell Kits

    Funded Aug 17, 2024

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for your generous contribution towards farewell kits for my students who are concluding their therapy sessions. Your thoughtful gift has brought immense joy and comfort to these students as they transition from therapy. Each farewell kit, filled with meaningful items, symbolizes not just a farewell but also a token of encouragement and support as they move forward. My students' reactions were priceless and it has been emotionally rewarding knowing that the gifts are helping to provide students with tools they will carry with them, promoting ongoing emotional well-being and self-care.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Aceves

  • Supplies to Promote Good Mental Health

    Funded Sep 4, 2024

Thanks to the generous donations, my students now have access to a wide range of supplies to support their emotional wellbeing and creativity. The new art supplies including the acrylic markers, and coloring books have brought a lot of excitement to our sessions. Students are eager to use art supplies and manage their emotions by using art to express themselves. The fidgets have provided calming, for students and parents who need a physical outlet to manage emotions. The supplies have overall boosted engagement but also provided grounding to my students. Thank you so much for making a difference in their lives.”

  • Improving Self Regulation Through Neurofeedback Training

    Funded May 14, 2024

The supplies have made a positive impact in my work with students. My students attend therapy sessions twice a week which is a huge commitment. The incentives have helped create a sense of commitment and routine in their lives. The speaker I requested has helped engage my students as I do Neurofeedback training. My students can now enjoy the videos during the session as the sound quality is much better. The feelings chart has helped expand my students' emotional awareness. They are now able to recognize and label their emotions which is the first step toward emotional intelligence. Their communication skills have improved significantly as they are better equipped to express their feelings to others including their family members.

Thank you once again for your generosity and thoughtfulness.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Aceves
