  • Choice of Seating In A Reading Nook

    Thank you so much for donating to my class. The students and myself are so appreciative of the gifts to our class. The students are really enjoying the reading nook. They cannot wait until it is their turn to be in the nook. The students are coming in early to read in the morning.

    The nook has been an important factor in encouraging the students the read. This is the time that they can read to each other, whether it's sight words or spelling words for the week.

    Our class will continue to shine, thanks to you!”

  • Old Filthy Carpet Needs To Go!!

    I first would like to say thank you for your generous gift. I'm very appreciative of your kindness. You could have chosen any other project but you picked mine.

    Our classroom carpet was dirty and worn. The children did not want to sit on it. I knew I had to do something.

    When the carpet arrived I didn't tell the students that it was coming. It was definitely a surprise! The next day when each one of my students walked in they had that look of shock, happy, and surprise balled into one. The students really didn't want to walk on it because they kept saying "it will get dirty". I reassured them that it was ok to do so.

    Now, when we have storytime they are comfortable and really enjoy being on the carpet. Some of the students would prefer being on the carpet instead of their chairs. (smile)

    We will continue to enjoy our carpet daily!!”
