Flexible Seating Needed!
Funded Dec 16, 2024My students absolutely love using the new seating cushions to be able to read throughout the classroom comfortably. They are really enjoying individual, independent reading time and a lot of it has to do with them feeling comfortable using the new colorful cushions. They look forward to being able to read in their books and get out of their desks to spend time in small groups reading or independently reading.
The other major Supply addition that this order included was a huge box of already sharpened pencils. This has been a huge positive change in our classroom because students are able to access pencils on demand without worrying about a sharpener or interrupting the lesson. We have had sharpeners break throughout the school year and many students coming without pencils to class. Now there is no worry or concern about who has remembered their supplies or more importantly for a parent or a student who doesn't have the money to purchase pencils.”

Class Novel Project
Funded Mar 13, 2024First of all, we would not be able to have over a 100 students all getting the shared experience of reading and discussing a novel for our final project if it had not been for our very generous donors. We are extremely thankful and grateful for the experience that having this book to be able to read as a class is giving us.
Secondly, students are engaging with the text, learning from each other as they talk about the book, asking each other questions and going back to the book to find the answers. Students are sharing their thoughts about the book. They are writing notes as they read. They are making personal connections to the book either through their own experiences, what they see in the world, or to other books they have read.
Lastly, students are going to be watching the movie and then comparing it to the book. They are going to be able to see that although movies are exciting and enjoyable, they never include everything that is in a book. This experience will have lasting effects on my class and myself as well. Thank you so very much!”
