On behalf of my students and myself here in Honolulu, Hawaii, we extend our deepest gratitude for your generous support. Your contributions have made a tangible and significant difference in our classroom, and we are thrilled to share how we are utilizing the wonderful new resources you have provided.

One of the most immediate and impactful additions to our classroom has been the new cardboard cutter. Previously, tackling cardboard for various projects was often a frustrating and time-consuming endeavor, with students struggling with scissors and often producing uneven or unsafe cuts. This not only hindered their creativity but also sometimes led to discouragement.

Now, with the cardboard cutter, the experience has been completely transformed! It has become an invaluable tool. For instance, on their recent project making a Rube Goldberg machine, students were tasked with using simple machines to complete a final task. The availability of the cardboard cutter allowed them to precisely cut and shape the cardboard to build sturdy and accurate prototypes. What used to be a struggle with jagged edges is now resulting in clean, professional-looking models that truly reflect their design ideas. The students are more engaged, more confident in their ability to execute their visions, and are spending more time focusing on the concepts rather than the tedious task of cutting.

These are just a few examples of how your generous donation and the new cardboard cutter are making a real difference in the daily lives and learning experiences of our students. We are so grateful for your belief in our students and your commitment to providing them with the tools they need to succeed. Your support is truly empowering the next generation of thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers here at Kalakaua Middle School.

Mahalo again for your incredible generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Kamiya
