Funded Feb 22, 2024Our school is implemented a no cell phone policy this spring, which has been a positive change for the learning taking place at Ogden High School. To give students a way to fill their free time once they were finished with their school work, your donation provided books, puzzles, and games for students to choose from. It was great to watch students interact and laugh with their peers while they played games together, instead of sitting silent while absorbing content on their devices. Some students had never played some of these games before and were able to learn them from myself or other students.
One of the most popular activities were the jigsaw puzzles. Many students were eager to finish their classwork to go work on the puzzle, either alone or with a friend. I even had a student who would come in during the lunch hour often to work on the puzzle alone, telling me it was a nice break for them to relax and do.
Providing these books, puzzles, and games allowed students to choose options of fun and connection without feeling dependent on technology or reaching for a phone to their fill spare time. Thank you for your donation and gifts to our classes.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Mackey
