Small Group Learning - Ball Chairs for Students with Disabilities!

The final semester of the 2023-2024 school year brought a mix of challenges and triumphs. Our class size for students with disabilities doubled, our co-teacher faced the difficult task of announcing her relocation, and we had to say our goodbye to a student for whom we had advocated to secure an IEP. Despite these hurdles, receiving this package brightened not only our day but also the remainder of the semester.

We observed increased engagement, greater willingness to participate in small groups, and more verbal expression of support needs among our students. Encouraging them to adhere to guidelines for using sensory chairs revealed how much more open they became in discussing their needs, simply through the opportunity to use these chairs.

I sincerely thank you for influencing the development of my current students and those to come. They will start their first day of the 24-25 school year knowing that they will be in a classroom that meets their needs.”
