  • Supplies for Student Success in Spanish Class

    This donation has gone above and beyond helping support my teaching and student learning! Simple items like pencils and tissues are used daily, and students no longer has to run to the bathroom is blow their nose- tissues in the classroom are SO much better than the brown school paper towels during cold and flu season.

    When students first saw the new chart markers and post-it pads, they were so excited to use the materials! We have used the chart markers and post-it pads to create anchor charts and use them for gallery walks in the classroom.

    Next projects will consist of additional flexible seating so students can work together and be comfortable while they are learning all about the Spanish language!”

  • Flexible Fun en Español

    Your contribution to our classroom has been so very well received. Students are thriving and having fun while learning Spanish. When students first heard of the news of flexible seating (and other fun additions to our classroom to enhance learning and hands-on activities) they were so excited to see what would be delivered. Students erupted in applause and cheer when I first told them! Parents were equally excited and happy to hear the great news when it was shared with them.

    In particular, students with varying needs and abilities and those that have struggled to maintain focus in a standard classroom desk are students who are THRIVING with new seats. Movement is so very important in learning, especially for my students in middle school. The seating is now flexible, and students can change their seat during class if they need to focus better, or need to "wobble" with the wobble chairs. It's amazing to watch from a teacher's view- students focus increasing with new chair options!

    Some of my next steps include increasing the varied type of seating, and continuing to increase movement in my classroom for students. The cardstock, lamination pouches, dry erase markers and dry erase protector pouches have allowed for scavenger hunts, task card challenges, and varying interpersonal speaking activities to get students up and moving around and interacting with each other while speaking Spanish.

    I am eternally grateful for the funding of this project, and I know my current and future students are too!”

My students are language explorers and are determined to practice their Spanish everyday. They are 7th and 8th graders who enjoy interactive and engaging lessons to help them increase their language proficiency. My middle schoolers are risk takers, always trying to speak in Spanish, even when they are struggling to pronounce certain words or phrases. They are full of energy and would love flexible seating to enjoy when they have the wiggles. My students enjoy collaboration and working with their peers, and challenging an adventure tasks like escape rooms, learning through games and scavenger hunts.
