STEAM: a Preschoolers Dream

Thank you again for providing the materials to my classroom which enabled my students to experiment and learn about various stem concepts. When the new materials arrived, the children were very excited to see and explore! I planned a thematic unit titled "Young Scientists" where each day we investigated a concept using the materials that we were gifted. The children learned about forces and motion as they tested ramps with cars and balls to see how far these items would travel as they changed gradients of slopes as well as surface textures. The group loved interacting with Tale-Bot the coding robot. They learned how to program the computer to allow the robot to move across a zoo themed play mat and help it to visit various animals. Another favorite item was the talking telescope. This was a wonderful addition to the solar system unit that I planned to align with the exciting solar eclipse!

All of these materials truly helped to add a hands on aspect to the children's learning.”
