This classroom project was brought to life by The Gates Foundation and 11 other donors.Imagining A Theme Park
Funded Feb 9, 2024Once again, my students and I are beyond thankful for your support in funding this project. While this project took longer than I anticipated, my students had a blast learning about how to design and construct their very own theme parks. I think my students' imagination and wonder opened up the moment they saw all the supplies arrive and got so excited to put together their theme parks. It was one thing putting it on paper, but it was another building rides, buildings, and ride vehicles with Popsicle sticks and clay
At first my students didn't understand how we got all the supplies but they when I told them of how we had such generous donors, they were so excited. In the beginning of the school year, we rarely had any supplies for my students to complete projects or even assignments. They really enjoyed the colored pencils and markers along with the poster boards and had a really fun time putting their time and thought into their projects. They really enjoyed laminating their final theme park maps and putting together 4 dimensional buildings together.
Because this project was an end of the year project, the immediate aftermath was a reflection asking students to reflect on their theme parks. There were some aspects to this lesson such a graphics and ride concepts that student struggled with but with the help of these supplies, students were able to put their ideas onto 4 dimensional materials to help enhance their vision. Right after this, students enjoyed last week of school activities and most students graduated knowing that imagination is one of the most important things they can continue to have and use towards their education.
Again, thank you so very much for your kindness and support, my students and I truly appreciate your kind donations.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Diaz
Career Fair
Funded Feb 9, 2024Once again, my students and I are beyond thankful for your support in funding this project. While this project took longer than I anticipated, my students had a blast learning about different careers by conducting research and interviewing parents and friends in those careers. I think my students' imagination and wonder opened up the moment they saw all the supplies arrive and got so excited to put together their career fair materials.
Because this project was an end of the year project, the immediate aftermath was a reflection asking students to reflect on their research and what they thought of the careers they chose. Not every student enjoyed the career they chose which in my opinion was a good thing as students could reflect on what they are passionate about and what they aren't. That way, it will help them open up to other possibilities in the years to come. Right after this, students enjoyed last week of school activities and most students graduated having an idea of what they would like to further study in high school and college.
Again, thank you so very much for your kindness and support, my students and I truly appreciate your kind donations.”

Ms. Diaz
