Most of my students are from low income families and are in grades 9th through 12th. Many of them often time during the work were doing ask for snacks and drinks not only for the classroom but for afterschool activities as well. Most are more focused when they are not hungry. Having students who recently became of the community gives me even more compassion in making sure they are never feeling hungry while learning. Students should be focused on their assignment and not if they will have a meal to eat when they get home after or during school.
