  • Cricut Classroom: Powering Up Our Learning

    I am excited to share the positive impact the classroom circuit has had on my ESOL students. By creating a circuit where students rotate through various learning stations, we've been able to foster a sense of ownership and comfort in the classroom. The different stations allow students to engage with the material in ways that suit their learning styles, helping them build confidence as they navigate the activities independently or collaboratively.

    This structure has also made the classroom feel more welcoming. Students are able to move around, interact with peers, and take charge of their learning in a way that helps them feel more at ease. The circuit has transformed the classroom from a traditional setting into a dynamic, student-centered environment, and it has played a significant role in making my students feel more comfortable and engaged.

  • Break the Barrier; Technology & Language Immersion for English Learners

    Thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to provide tablets for our ESOL students, and the impact has been remarkable. Previously, we struggled with students becoming distracted by their phones, which hindered their focus and ability to engage with the lessons. However, since introducing tablets into our classroom, we've seen a significant decrease in phone usage and a corresponding rise in engagement.

    The tablets have allowed students to participate more actively in lessons, access educational apps, and complete interactive assignments with greater ease. With these tools at their fingertips, they now have a dedicated device solely for learning, helping them stay focused on their educational goals. The results have been clear: students are more engaged, motivated, and excited to learn.

    This increased engagement is not just reflected in their academic progress but also in their overall attitude towards learning English. The tablets have empowered students by giving them access to resources that support their language development and build their confidence.
