  • Snacks for Learning Power!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you so much for providing my students with snacks. Because of your caring, my students have been provided with snacks when they had forgotten theirs as well as edible reinforcers for a job well done.

It is so important for students with autism to be offered items that are highly reinforcing to keep them working consistently and happily. Because of your generosity, I was able to evaluate them in the beginning of the year to see what they prefer and to reward them consistently with their preferred items.

    Again, I am so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moskowitz

  • A Sensory Experience for Students with Autism!

    Funded Jan 15, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my project to give my students a sensory experience. Many students with autism require consistent sensory input to be able to navigate through their day. Sensory items provide a calming experience for them which in turn helps them to learn better and to succeed.

I have one student in particular who adores the sensory floor squares and he requests them generally every day. The squashmellows are in our calm down corner and have been successful at helping the students to maintain emotional balance and relax. The other items are in a sensory bucket that the students choose from when they need something in their hands while they work.

Again, thank you. My students and I really appreciate your caring donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moskowitz

  • Bring Color to Students With Autism!

    Funded Jan 9, 2024

I want to thank you so much for funding this very important project for my students. My students learn through a very special program called verbal behavior and this program really fosters independence and aids learning in students with autism. One important aspect in this program is using pictures in addition to words to help many of our students understand and to communicate with us. It is very important that these pictures be in color and not black and white. The color printer is being used to help the children to successfully navigate the classroom as well as to print out their work in color which will increase the students focus.

I have included some pictures of the types of system that we are using our color printer for. These are examples of the students individual schedules and reward choice boards but we use it for so much more. Again, thank you so much for funding this vital project for my wonderful and hardworking students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Moskowitz
