• Piano Keyboard for Success

  Thank you so much for the keyboard for my classroom. We have a piano but it does not stay in tune because of the changes of temperature. Having a keyboard in a general music class is very important and your purchase helps me help my students. I use the keyboard every day to help with students singing the correct pitch to playing melodies for recorders or other instruments. Students who take private lessons (I have 3) have gotten to play this keyboard and they love it. I have also used it during PLC with other music teachers.

• UKE Can Play an Instrument!

  I don't even know how to say thank you! I have been at this school for a little more than a year and have wanted to teach ukulele to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. We are a low income school and there was no extra money for instruments. I decided to write this grant as a long shot to receive ukuleles. And thanks to you and your incredible donation, my students are now playing ukulele!

  After I spent a weekend tuning and putting colored dots on each ukulele, my students started to play. Even my students who speak little to no English are learning and able to play as well. In just a few lessons, these students will know 5 chords (C, F, G7, C7 and a minor) which will allow them to play many songs like "I Lava You" and "I Don't Know My Name" among several others.”

• Can You Hear Me Now?

  I can't thank you enough for the two monitor speakers!! I use these every day to have students listen to and sing along with recorded music. These speakers produce an exceptional sound in stereo which is needed because many professional tracks for elementary music are in stereo and without these speakers, many instruments and sound do are not heard.

  I also plan to use these monitor speakers in several upcoming performances. We will be doing a Winter Musical called "Jingle Bell Jukebox" with First, Third and Fifth Grade. We will be doing a Spring Musical "Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr." with Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade. And a second grade and Kindergarten end of year concert.
