  • Dolphin Store Lego Sets

    Funded Mar 8, 2024

    Our students are always excited to visit The Dolphin Dollar Store, our token economy reward center at Crossroads School. Donors Choose has helped us keep fun, educational, and amusing items in stock for the kids to purchase with their earned Dolphin Dollars.

    The smaller Lego Sets are a particular favorite for our second, third, and fourth grade students. The projects are not too big or intimidating, and are just complex enough to provide a sense of completion when completed. These items fly off the tables when we have them in stock and the students are always requesting more sets!

    Making a Lego project requires the use of small motor skills, patience, and perseverance, as well as following instructions and careful reading. These are qualities we like to foster in our students and we are happy to help them develop the skills while also nurturing creativity and fun! Many thanks to our Donors for help with this project.”

  • Dolphin Store Super-Saver Items

    Funded Feb 29, 2024

    Our students are always so excited to see and have an opportunity to purchase new items in our token economy 'Dolphin Store.' They work hard to earn their Dolphin Dollars (based on the PBIS principles of safety, respect, and responsibility).

    Items that we received for this project through the generous donations are ones that are always appreciated by our students. Magnetic building blocks, UNO games, Etch-A-Sketch and assorted fidgets are fun toys that our students purchase quickly.

    We are so happy to be able to offer fun and exciting prizes for our students to choose from. Thanks to DonorsChoose we are able to stock our store with some super items!”

  • Crossroads School Store Project

    Funded Feb 4, 2024

    Thanks to your generosity we were able to add some cool items to our school store. Each morning our students get an opportunity to purchase school supplies, and they are always happy to see new items on offer.

    The black ink gel pens sold out in one day! The animal pens were a huge hit and I constantly refilled the container they were in as they sold out each day they were available, and some of the students purchased more than one. Highlighters are always an in-demand item, as are the mini notebooks. The erasers and mechanical pencils won't last long either!

    Thank you again for helping us provide supplies for our store. The school store is self-funding and also funds our Dolphin Store, which is a PBIS/token economy program. We appreciate the help and support we have experienced from DonorsChoose!”

  • Dolphin Store Stress-Reducing Items

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

    Our students were very excited to visit the Dolphin Dollar Store in December. They are always happy to see new items added to the inventory, and look forward to spending their "dollars" to buy fun and useful things.

    The marble fidgets were very popular as they are a quiet toy that keeps hands busy without disturbing others.

    The spinner/poppers went fast as the students discovered the smooth rotating action and the fun poppers on each spinner arm.

    Many children chose journals to use for writing, drawing, and keeping track of assignments. These and the other items donated to this project were part of a fun and resourceful 'shopping' day for our students.”
