English Language Learning Portfolios
Funded Jan 31, 2025Thank you so much for your generous donations and support for my classroom! Your kindness has provided my students with the binders they need to stay organized and succeed in their learning. This will make a huge difference in their ability to keep track of materials, take ownership of their work, and build essential academic skills. I am truly grateful for your generosity and interest in helping my students thrive.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 4 other donors.High School SEL Club Materials
Funded Nov 20, 2023Upon the arrival of the art supplies, exercise equipment, and board games for our high school Social-Emotional Learning club in Baltimore, the students were certainly excited. Many were excited to try out the exercise equipment (specifically the ab wheel). Others have not played games such as Candyland since their childhood, and were excited to try it out. The board games were used to promote mindful communication and teamwork, fostering connections among the students. During our weekly club meeting, other students were encouraged to create personal vision boards using the art supplies, expressing their aspirations and goals for the future. This low-key yet impactful approach helped create a more inclusive and comfortable space for students to explore their emotions and connections with peers.
Moving forward, we aim to integrate the art supplies, exercise equipment, and board games in a more structured/intentional manner. The next steps for our students involve incorporating short mindfulness exercises that leverage the art supplies and board games to continue promoting self-awareness and emotional well-being. For instance, the exercise equipment will be utilized in brief physical activities to emphasize the connection between movement and mental well-being. By tailoring these activities to the unique dynamics of our high school community, we aim to deepen the impact of our SEL program, and we look forward to sharing the specific ways in which these resources contribute to our students' holistic development with our generous donors.”
