"The Tale of the Dueling Neurosurgeons" Classroom Set

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in helping make his classroom project possible. The students loved reading a relevant and historical account of famous tales in neuroscience. The classroom discussions were fascinating and it was easy to tell the students were interested in the material. They couldn't wait to discuss it with me and their peers.

For the project, students were given a 9-box choice board where they chose how to show their knowledge of the book. Students created sculptures, essays, poems, visual timelines, children's books, 3-D dioramas, and scientific journal article analyses based on information presented in the book.

It isn't always easy for us to introduce new text into the classroom, as not every student has the means to go out and buy the book. Your kindness made it so the lessons and project were possible, and the students benefited greatly from this experience. It is incredible to see how much our Nervous System unit was enhanced with the addition of this book. Not only will these students have the opportunity to read this book, but so will classes for years to come, and for that I cannot thank you enough.”
