Funded Nov 17, 2023The new materials have been great for hands on learning in our classroom. Since the donations, students have had the opportunity to participate in more labs and demonstrations. For example, students have had the opportunity to dissect dogfish sharks. This activity was not only engaging, but allowed the students to compare the mammalian vertebrates with other types of vertebrates. The worm farm has also provided a great opportunity to my science seminar students. They're able to see how soil science is affected by invertebrates and have even begun experiments on plants using the materials provided.
More generalized materials have been great for activities and assignments. Popsicle sticks, balloons, poster board, and chalk markers are all materials students have readily used for models and presentations. I am incredibly grateful for the donations provided that made the classroom better for all of my students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Parsons
