  • Hear the Difference: Headphones for Focused, Engaged Learners

    Funded Dec 23, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! I am very excited to share the great news to my students and give them headphones for their learning. These headphones and organizer will help all of my students be able to learn independently when necessary and access content they might otherwise not be able to. We are so grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCann

  • Collaborate & Elevate: Kidney-Shaped Table for Inclusive Learning Spaces

    Funded Jan 15, 2024

Introducing a kidney-shaped table into the classroom has made group work a breeze! Its design encourages students to face each other, making it easier to chat and share ideas. Plus, it feels more like a team effort rather than a teacher-led activity, which boosts confidence and participation. No one feels left out, and everyone's ideas get heard. It's like our little hub for creativity and collaboration!

When students first saw the kidney table, all of them wanted to sit at it and work there. It has become an essential part of our classroom for small group work and where students can go to be successful. We have used the table for conferences during writing, instructional groups after a whole group reading lesson and during math intervention. Students love coming to sit and work with each other and me!”

    With gratitude,

  • Gloomy Day Gleam: Sparking Joy in Indoor Recess

    Funded Jan 14, 2024

In a city where outdoor space is limited and where the weather constantly changes, indoor recess toys have become essential tools for fostering physical activity, social interaction, and creative play among students. With the constraints of urban living limiting opportunities for outdoor play, these toys serve as vital outlets for energy release and imaginative exploration. From building blocks to marble runs, these indoor recess activities provide a much-needed break from the academics of the classroom, allowing students to stretch their bodies and minds in an environment that promotes cognitive development.

Moreover, indoor recess toys play a crucial role in building a sense of community and camaraderie among students in urban settings. By engaging in cooperative games and group activities, students learn valuable social skills such as teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution. These toys create opportunities for peer interaction and collaboration, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging within the school community. In a city where outdoor play spaces are scarce and rainy or snowy days are common, indoor recess toys not only provide entertainment but also serve as catalysts for positive social interactions and emotional well-being among students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McCann
