Funded Feb 22, 2024It has been a few months since I received the materials from your donations. From the moment we received them, we have been using them regularly.
For the Expo markers, we now have more colours to use in our classes. This allows me to differentiate the work of various students. For example, when they work in groups on the vertical whiteboards around the room, as they often do, I can assign a colour to each student so that I know who did which work. This can be helpful in determining at a glance, which students excel and which students need more attention. And of course the quality of the markers is excellent and they last a long time, so I believe I will not need replacements for another 2-3 years, which I can hopefully get from my district.
For the graphing calculators, we put those into effect immediately, as we did not have enough working calculators before. Now all students have their own calculators in our class set, which eliminates the need for sharing. Since these calculators match our old ones, the students don't have to learn a new "system." Many calculators have different "systems" (usually from different brands), so it's nice for them to be able to seamlessly adapt to the new calculators without any difficulty. They work very well and in much the same way as our existing calculators and will also be suitable for their state exams at the end of the year, which are coming up soon.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Lin
