Relaxation Station
Funded Nov 10, 2023From the bottom of my heart thank you so much for contributing to my classroom! The items that you helped purchased for my classroom have been used daily for all of my students. Some of my favorite moments this year have been watching my students able to self regulate their bodies with the help of the items that are now in my classroom. I want to share some moments with you that have happened with each item you helped purchase.
The first item that was delivered to my classroom was the sensory pod. This item was a must have for our class! I have one student who gets very giggly when they are overwhelmed. Whenever this student sits in our pod, an immediate calm comes over them. It is amazing to see an immediate reaction to something that I know was bought with the help of amazing people like you.
The next item that was delivered to our classroom was the yoga ball. My students do not do well sitting in four legged chairs for prolonged periods of time. They love to bounce and rock back-and-forth to help regulate their body and be ready to work. The yoga ball helps them focus when we are doing academic work and helps keep them engaged for longer periods of time.
Another item that was bought was a stabilizer bar for the trampoline that is in our classroom. I have students with balance issues, and the stabilizer bar was a great addition to the trampoline to help students be able to use their full force to bounce and get their energy out.
The last items that were delivered were a weighted vest and a weighted blanket for students who loves heavy items. Our students love to use the yoga ball and wear the vest or sit in pod with the weighted blanket over them.
Each of the items you helped purchased has truly made a world of difference to my students. When our students do not have access to these items in settings outside of our classroom they can become nervous, frustrated, overwhelmed and not able to be their true selves. Thank you for helping my students access their education in a way that works for them.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Gogosha
