Calming Area

I am so grateful for your donations. All of my items arrived at the end of last school year. This allowed me to come into the school year with fresh supplies to create classroom calming kits. I just gave them to the teachers a few days ago, and although they are new, I know they will be well loved. One classroom already used some of the coloring books as part of a SEL (social-emotional learning) lesson. I know these kits will enhance our classrooms and provide some much needed relief for our students. Fortunately, the rocks and paints were shipped quickly and I was able to complete a rock painting activity with the entire school before the school year ended. It was such a hit I extended the program past lunch and into the next period (with teacher permission, of course). Some students enjoyed the creative outlet, others enjoyed creating and sharing with their friends. However, one of the cooler experiences was witnessing the students engage in "play." One student said to a few others, "When was the last time you did something like this?" Time to play is so beneficial to our students wellbeing. As you can see their play, fun, and creativity really brought some color to our green space. Thank you again for your generosity. It truly means the world.”
