My students are truly unique individuals, each with their own distinct qualities and needs. They bring a diverse range of abilities, interests, and challenges to the classroom. Each student with autism experiences the world in their own special way, with sensory sensitivities and preferences that vary widely. Some may have heightened responses to sensory stimuli, such as bright lights or loud noises, which can impact their comfort and focus. Others may thrive on repetitive behaviors or have specific interests that can be leveraged to enhance their learning experiences. In our classroom, we celebrate these differences and recognize that every student’s unique sensory needs contribute to their learning style.
