Flashlight Fridays
Funded Dec 13, 2024Thank you so much for helping fund my project! With the resources our class received we are able to incorporate Flashlight Reading at least once a week. All students are able to participate becuase I have enough materials for each student. My students are now excited and eager to read. Instead of seeing reading as a chore, they now see it as a fun activity they want to participate in! When I told my students that we would be reading in the dark they were a little hesitant, however once they realized they could read anywhere in the room with flexible seating and a flashlight they were so excited. Each week for 15-20 minutes I have all students engaged in reading becuase they truly want to. The next step is to get students to love reading with or without a flashlight!”

Funded Aug 15, 2024Your generous donations have allowed my classroom to become a better learning environment for all of my students. I am so grateful to be able to give my students the necessary materials to succeed in class. They are more involved in their learning which allows my classroom to be more student-led rather than teacher-led, more often. After explaining where the materials came from the students were so amazed that people who they do not know were willing to support their learning. Donors like you are why students in lower-income areas are able to have experiences that they may not have been able to have otherwise.”

Funded Nov 7, 2023Thank you so much for choosing to donate to my project. Since I have received all of the materials, my students have been so much more inclined to read. My students will always ask when they are finished with their work if they can grab flexible seating and read around the room. Additionally, since receiving the new books and seating I have implemented "Flashlight Friday" which allows all students to use flexible seating to read around the classroom with a flashlight. This would not have been possible if it wasn't for your generous donation. Thank you so much and I hope that I can continue inspiring students love for reading.”
