My class is forever grateful for the gift of technology that has been bestowed upon us to support literacy! My students each have a pair of headphones and because of this they do not have to share with other students. They are super excited to take care of their headphones and use them each day. My Polka Dots always remind me to sanitize them before putting them away.
Our new lap taps allowed students to gain access to technological applications such as Abcya.com to support sight word recognition and spelling. They also are able to access RAZ-KIDS to record themselves reading and support their reading fluency. This is the ultimate reading goal of 2nd grade here at DCPS. Because of these technological additions, my students are well on their way to being on or above grade level!
