The Visionary Starts With a Piece of Paper ... MG
Funded Nov 15, 2024Thank you for your generosity. One hundred percent percent of donated materials support student growth to meet grade level benchmarks. Your kindness contributes to equity for our students. By providing supplies to create integral materials, we are able accelerate learning for students across the board and bridge learning gaps.
Our class was very excited to see our new materials that will support students through colorful anchor charts and amplified resources for multilingual students. They got to work right away to make hundred chart posters for our classroom. Which is so important, as use anchor charts on a daily basis to support literacy skills, math fluency, and new concepts.
A special thank you to the Donors Choose team and Quill for supporting us to correct a teacher error on our initial materials order. Quill made it easy to return the mistaken items. The team then responded quickly and thoroughly to coordinate with our vendor for replacement materials.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Valadez

Funded Feb 8, 2024Your generosity has supported students in practicing the many strategies that are essential for success in third grade math. From place value charts to fractions bars and graphic organizers, the rigor in the third grade requires daily practice to reinforce prior knowledge and to master new content.
Our classes were very excited to receive new dry erase markers. We even used the packages themselves to practice multiplication and division strategies. For example, a box of markers contains 36 markers. If we divide one box between 4 students, how many markers will each student receive.
Third grade scholars in North Carolina begin standardized testing that will continue as they progress in their education. It is a big year for them and their families. Our students were very excited to use our markers in small group settings to prepare for their big exams. The dry erase markers also reduced the amount of paper that would have been used if they were not available. Your generosity not only supported student growth, but we were able to save a few trees as well.”

Funded Jan 4, 2024I am proud to teach such a diverse group of scholars that includes multilingual students, newcomers, and native English speakers. It is imperative to provide these children with as many entry points into curriculum content as possible. Your donations have given us many ways in which our class can access the language that is a large component of third grade math.
Literacy in math is essential to mastery and building a solid foundation for comprehension in math. The ink cartridges that were provided through your donations helped many of our students grasp new concepts and supported student engagement during the first three quarters of our school year.
Third grade scholars in North Carolina begin standardized testing that will continue as they progress in their education. It is a big year for them and their families. Our students were very excited to use bright and colorful materials in small group settings. The bright colors were also used for wall posters, graphic organizers, and other supplemental materials that decorate the walls of our classroom. We are so grateful for your generosity.”
