Hands-on Learning in Kindergarten

Funded Nov 5, 2023

First off, thank you so much for the donation to my project. My students and I are so incredibly grateful. Since receiving the resources, my students have been excited to have the opportunity to participate in more hands-on learning.

My students absolutely love our lego wall. They create and collaborate on designs. Our bouncy bands for our chairs have assisted students in being able to focus when they are at their desk. The bands have been extremely beneficial for our friends who love to move while they work. Now, they are able to be comfortable and move while they stay on task to complete their assignments. The other hands-on learning resources have been utilized primarily in our centers or small group practice. Students love to work with each other and learn through exploration and experimentation.

When my students first saw the items they cheered and jumped in the air. They asked question after question about each and every new resource. This excitement and curiosity has fueled their desire to learn. They wait patiently for their chance to get to use new center resources, the lego wall, or any of our other hands-on resources that we received.

I plan to continue utilizing these hands-on resources throughout the year. In science, we have been discussing plants and animals. Soon, we will use our growing terrarium resources for a science experiment. Thank you again for your donation!”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Anderson
