Thank you so much much for donating! My students recently learned about the hardships of being homeless and will enjoy making these blankets for someone in need! We will make these blankets as soon as we receive the material. The blankets will be donated to a local non-profit that can give them to those that need them the most. Thank you, again!”
All of my students in my community service learning class worked on making no-sew homeless blankets. I had one student create a slideshow and teach the blanket making procedures to the class. This student also prepared the fleece fabric but the rest of the students did the individual blanket cutting and tying. Students helped each other if others took longer to complete his or her blanket! It was a real team effort!
The students were so impressed with how much fabric we had! It was like Christmas because of all the big boxes. We had plenty of sewing scissors also! They were able to pick what color blanket they wanted to create and could combine colors if they wanted.
My students will be donating these blankets to the Salvation Army. We have rolled the blankets and tied them with ribbons. I hope my students learned a lot from this activity and appreciate the chance to help someone in need!”
