    Funded Oct 21, 2024

Mahalo piha for your support of education and hungry teenagers! Your generosity and aloha is very much appreciated.

Inspiring students now to become lifelong learners is a benefit for all of us in every community, and while it’s impossible to determine exactly how much of a ripple effect your care and concern will make, please know you have definitely made a gigantic splash here in this community!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kalei

  • Building Academic Self-Esteem

    Funded Oct 31, 2023

Adolescents are going through so many changes simultaneously. Physical, emotional, and social changes make it extra difficult for the middle-school adolescent to maintain engagement and sustained focus in any academic lesson, and for those students who have a disability, this common classroom expectation is nearly impossible. Frequently, student disengagement and inattention quickly spirals into academic struggle and failing grades resulting in low academic self-esteem.

My students have loved the STEM projects and fidgets! These simple tools have helped students increase their engagement and focus by allowing them to design, create, and build their academic self-esteem.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kalei

  • Filling Stomachs and Minds

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

Expecting students to make consistent academic progress in this instant-gratification, social media, fast-paced society is a very tall order.

Throw in the pangs of hunger and the lack of academic motivation present in most teenage students and you have a classroom disaster just waiting to happen.

Through your generosity and kindness, my students have had nutritious snacks to help keep them focused on their academic learning. With food in their stomach, they have increased energy and stamina to sustain their focus and make more academic progress.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Kalei
