Each 3D Modeler Needs a Mouse

As a math teacher in a rough neighborhood in Los Angeles, one of the main issues we encounter is trying to make the school experience something the students can find worthwhile. Their disconnection from education is real. When the opportunity to attempt to add real value to their time in secondary school presented itself---the chance to carve out time to teach them to use Sketchup, a free 3-D modeling software---I realized I had to take it.

There was just one problem, one my architect-wife (who both inspired me and taught me how to use the program) pointed out: a mouse?

Not having a class set of, eh, mouses, made the task of operating the program MUCH more difficult. I was nervous that my plan to help these young people learn a practical program would be finished before it could even begin.

This is where you and your amazing donation enter the story. Because of your generosity, my classroom has enough mouses (I'm still on the fence about the plural of a computer mouse, but I like "mouses" instead of "mice") so each student can use one in each period. My plan to give the students some practical skills can proceed, and some students may supremely benefit from the opportunity.
