Help Give My Students Ice Packs!
Funded May 22, 2024We are thrilled to share the incredible impact your generous contributions have made by providing us with an ice machine to help provide ice packs to my students. This resource has not only enhanced our clinic environment but also played a vital role in our students' learning and well-being.
Utilization in the Nurse's Office: The ice packs have become an essential resource in the nurse's office. We use them daily to provide immediate relief to students who come in with minor injuries, headaches, or inflammation. Recently, a student arrived with a sprained ankle from gym class. Thanks to the ice packs, we were able to reduce the swelling and provide comfort right away. The quick access to ice has made a noticeable difference in how we manage minor injuries and provide care.
Student Reactions: When the students first saw the new ice machine, they were intrigued and excited. Many of them expressed gratitude, knowing they could receive quicker treatment for their injuries. The knowledge that we now have an efficient way to provide relief has made them feel more secure and supported during school hours.
Next Steps: Looking ahead, we plan to integrate more educational components about injury prevention and self-care for our students. We aim to conduct workshops on the importance of first aid and how to use ice packs effectively for various injuries. This will empower students with knowledge and encourage them to take an active role in their health and wellness.
Your support has made a tangible difference in our ability to provide immediate care and promote a healthier school environment. Thank you for helping us create a safer and more responsive space for our students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Valentine

Funded May 8, 2024We are delighted to update you on the remarkable impact your generous support for our "Fridge for Health: Keeping Students Cool and Cared For" project has had on our school nurse's clinic. Your contribution has been transformative, providing vital resources that enhance the care and well-being of our students.
How We're Using the New Resource
The new fridge has become an indispensable asset in the school nurse's clinic. It is now stocked with a variety of essentials, including medical supplies that need to be kept at specific temperatures, such as certain medications and medical equipment. Additionally, it allows us to store healthy snacks and hydrating beverages for students who need them during their visits.
For example, in a recent incident, a student arrived feeling faint and dehydrated after a long, hot day. Thanks to the fridge, we were able to quickly provide them with a cold drink and a snack, which made a significant difference in their recovery and overall comfort. This immediate access to fresh, healthy provisions has greatly improved our ability to respond effectively to students' needs.
Students' Reactions
When students learned about the new fridge and its benefits, they expressed their gratitude and excitement. Many students who visit the clinic for minor health issues or after physical activities have noted how the availability of snacks and drinks makes them feel more cared for and supported. One student said, "It's really nice to have a cold drink when I'm not feeling well—it makes me feel better faster."
Next Steps for Our Clinic
Moving forward, we are working on a plan to use the fridge to store emergency supplies, ensuring that we are always prepared for unexpected needs. This will enhance our readiness and effectiveness in providing immediate care when students require urgent assistance.
Your support has made a profound impact on our ability to care for our students more efficiently and compassionately. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and are excited to continue using the fridge to support and improve student health and well-being.
Thank you for making such a meaningful difference.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Valentine
