Make a Splash: Pool Toy Joy

The introduction of our new pool toys brought an electrifying energy to our aquatic unit in PE. The kids were thrilled to dive underwater, discovering how each toy could be used in different ways. Some students eagerly explored the underwater depths, practicing their diving skills with brightly colored rings and dive sticks, while others engaged in games of catch, tossing squishy toys back and forth. The laughter and excitement were contagious, fostering a sense of camaraderie as they enjoyed these new experiences together.

With an abundance of goggles available, every child found a pair that fit comfortably, enhancing their underwater adventures. This accessibility allowed them to explore the pool with confidence, promoting not only their enjoyment but also their safety. As they maneuvered the toys and played games, the children naturally engaged their fine motor skills, grasping, throwing, and catching with increasing proficiency. The anticipation of using these toys again in future sessions promises to enrich their physical development and strengthen their social bonds, making our pool time an invaluable part of their growth. Now we are moving into our biking unit, and we are looking forward to using the pool toys again in the Spring!”
