Hands on/Interactive Science Materials
Funded Feb 6, 2024WOW! I was hoping for an impact from your hands on science donations on my students, but I had no idea how much of an impact your donations would have on my students! The students were engaged, working together, trying new outcomes, thinking, and asking questions to each other. It was as if they didn't need me to tell them what to do.
First of all, I unpacked your hands on science donations in front of my students. I explained the process of Donors Choice to the students. They were so excited about your donations to our class. They were and are very thankful to each of you! Hopefully, this will encourage each of them to pay it forward in the future. We discussed each item and talked about how each item related to our studies in first grade. I wish you could have seen their faces! They wanted to use the donations that day, but I told them they had to wait. Lots of sad faces!
Rotation Day! I decided to set up stations with your hands on science donations and have the students rotate from station to station, exploring each of the donations (please see the pictures). The students were engaged. It was so awesome as a teacher to see the sparkle in their eyes as they rotated through the hands on science donations.
I think we may have some scientist in the future. Thank you again for your donations! You are making a difference in kid's lives!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Pittman
