Expo Markers for My Expert Students

When I first noticed that packages were coming to my school in my name for my students I was in awe and so grateful for the generous support of loving individuals who would invest money to buy these awesome expo markers for my students. My students began to use the markers right away . We first started using the skinny black expo markers while figuring out the Problem of the Day . It really gave my students a sense of importance and validation knowing that there weee so many people who were in their corner, and assisting them with meeting their goals.

My students use their expo marks daily, especially the colored ones to complete the morning routines. Students are in charge of my classroom and they enjoy assigning jobs to their peers. We have a routine that I can The Daily Deposit where they need to figure out the amount that is in the class bank account on a daily basis. The students follow a monthly formula to setter one how much money is deposited daily into our class account. Next, students take the deposited amount and on erasable sentence strips assign different math tasks to represent the deposited amount in different ways. My students make up their own tasks, such as divide by 1,000, represent the daily deposit using three different forms of a number , half it, triple it and create the largest and smallest numbers by rearranging the digits. Since receiving these markers the students remark almost Daily how the colors bring the room to life.

Students also use the markers to create posters to illustrate their thinking when solving mathematical problems using Nath Talk. Thank you so much for caring about my kids who excel in everything they do. You really renewed my faith in paying it forward.”
