Roots Of Harlem
Funded May 9, 2024Thank to your donation towards our project, "Roots Of Harlem," the student, myself and the community has benefited from the new resources we was able to use. Having student assemble the raised garden beds to plant vegetables and flowers was a great experience. The use of the bulb planter was giving student an understanding of the varies tools use in the garden. Through its innovative educational programs from Harlem Roots Garden, that provided students with hands-on learning experiences in STEM education, environmental sustainability, nutrition, and life skills development, empowering them with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world. Simultaneously, the garden fosters community engagement, social cohesion, and economic growth by providing fresh produce to underserved communities, hosting cultural events and workshops, preserving Harlem's rich cultural heritage.
Moreover, the garden's presence has a profound social impact, promoting community pride and ownership, and offering a peaceful green oasis for relaxation and stress reduction. Economically, the garden stimulates local development through sustainable agriculture, gardening training, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Environmentally, it showcases sustainable gardening practices, educates community members about conservation, and contributes to a healthier food system. As a beacon of hope and transformation, of the Roots of Harlem project Garden served as a model for urban community gardening initiatives, by demonstrating the potential for collective growth, empowerment, and positive change.”

Funded Dec 14, 2023Thank you soooooo much Donors! With the help of your donation towards this project with the translation technologies it brought better communication to our community. It enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of communication between teachers, students, and parents.
By using the translation tools along with other language services, the schools was able to communicate with parents who may not speak the English language fluently.
This has helped to build stronger relationships between schools and parents, foster a sense of inclusivity and engagement, and create a more supportive learning environment for all students. At the end of the day, this could be the deciding factor in determining the degree of success. When the level of communication is high between all three parties, students are more likely to achieve higher academic performance.”
