Equipment To Launch a Journalism Program

Thank you for helping by funding equipment for our growing journalism program. With the items provided, we have started to generate video content for our school website (www.tafttribune.org). It is allowing students to expand their voices in new ways and explore other branches of journalistic content. It also is providing them with a more authentic production experience as they use higher quality equipment beyond the simple built-in mics and software. They've felt more pride in their work and have produced some impressive projects, with other work in the pipeline that we're excited about.

These materials and the content they have enabled have allowed us to pitch administration on going further with our ambitions for producing professional-quality video for broadcast as a means of replacing the schools flat, simply-read announcements. By creating weekly episodes with feature video packages, refillable segments, and other such student-generated work, we are hoping to do even more with our humble journalism crew.”
