Let's Give Them Something To Talk About: Access to Communication

Thank you so much for supporting my students! I have been able to use the Fire Tablet and AAC app Coughdrop to facilitate communication for my early learners. The students have been using it in individual sessions to request for desired items, respond "yes/no," and begin to direct actions using the word "go." We have also been using it during our lunchtime routine, in which the students each have a job and hand out items, such as forks, to their peers. The Fire tablet has allowed them to communicate to each other by asking "do you want this?" or saying "here you go." Additionally, this has been the first introduction to AAC for some of the students. They are beginning to learn communicative intent and the Fire tablet has been an integral part of the process.
