Stand and Make Music

It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I write this letter. Early last school year (2023-24) I made a request for help raising funds to purchase new choral risers for our music room. The risers we had at that time were 5o years old and needed to be replaced. At Warder we use our choral risers as seating for every student in kindergarten through fifth grades as well as for our performances. Having quality risers is very important to me, not only in an effort to provide a positive experience for my students, but for their safety as well.

Through Donorschoose and the generosity of people from our local, Arvada community and all over the US, we were able to raise enough money to purchase new sets of Wenger 4-step choral risers. My students, of every grade level, were SO excited to see the new risers when they walked into the music for the first time at the beginning of this school year (2024-25). The risers are beautiful. They are safe, with no sharp edges in sight, connecting together to prevent movement migration and they have wonderful railings at the back to prevent falls. They've really "classed up the joint"!

Every group of students, K-5, will have an opportunity to perform on these choral risers over the course of this year. We're all excited to see them put into use for performances, but for now we are very happy to have them in our classroom!
