Tech Time Essentials
Funded Dec 18, 2024We cannot thank you enough for choosing our classroom's project to fund. With these new materials, I would be able to effectively plan our technology block by providing students with their progress trackers. I am also grateful to have the lap desks so that students can sit in different areas in the classroom to help them focus.
My students were really excited for all the new materials. They love that I am able to print resources in color, as well as display them on the wall for them to reference during lessons. They also love the option to sit on the rug with a lap desk to do their work. I cannot wait to use these materials with my classroom for many years to come!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community & an Anonymous Partner and 3 other donors. So Many Books, So Little Time!
Funded Apr 10, 2024We are truly grateful to have such wonderful donors like you, who care about communities like ours! The new baskets are being used to organize different book genres from the library. The privacy dividers are used for concentration during tests so students aren't tempted to distract each other. The mailbox is being used for students to store the books that they check out from the library. The dot stickers are being used to categorize the different book genres.
When we first received our new materials, my students were super excited to start checking out books. I taught them how to check out and return a book to its correct basket. We talked about how to handle books with care so they could last a long time. Additionally, we discussed how to use the mailbox to store the books so they don't get misplaced.
My next steps for this project is for students to continue to use these routines to check out and return books so they could explore a variety of genres in an organized way. Thanks again for your donations!”

This classroom project was brought to life by 3MGives.A Calm and Safe Space!
Funded Apr 2, 2024Thanks again for choosing our classroom project to donate to! My students have been checking in with themselves using the new SEL posters. They are able to express how they're feeling, as well as use different calming techniques to reset their bodies. They can also use resources from the fidget box while they are at the calm corner.
After I set up the privacy desk and decorated the space with posters, my students were excited to learn more about how to utilize the new space and when to access it. We had a discussion about our feelings and how it's ok to sometimes feel sad, mad, or anxious. We talked about how when we're experiencing big feelings, that is a great opportunity to go to the calm corner and use different strategies to calm down. Then, after they regulate their feelings, they can return to the group.
My next steps for this project will be to continue building routines and practices that involve self check ins and self regulation so that students can use these strategies every time they are having big feelings. Thanks again for donating these essential materials to our classroom!”

Visuals Are The Foundation Of Learning!
Funded Nov 27, 2023I'm so grateful you chose to donate to my project! My students and I are using these new resources everyday. The new anchor chart is a wonderful addition to our class. I display the new tricky words that I teach for each unit that we cover in our Fundations curriculum. I also display vocabulary words from our Knowledge curriculum that they can refer back to when we're completing writing assignments.
My students were in awe of the new anchor chart when I finished assembling it. They were excited to be able to physically interact with the content that I would display. They currently love to take turns "being the teacher" when reading the words.
Our next steps would be to continue to display common tricky words and vocabulary words that appear within our curriculum. Having a place to display our words will certainly improve my students' fluency and automaticity skills for many years to come.”

Mrs. Rodrigues
