  • Cozy Canoe's for the Calming Room.

    Funded May 29, 2024

Cozy Canoe's for the Calming Room.

Last year the students experienced a calming room called "The Rainbow Room." The response was positive and many staff and students saw the benefit of such a room.

Thank you so much for making this project possible for all of our students and the future students of this school. We received our project materials towards the end of the summer and in September/ October introduced them to the Rainbow Room but also used some of the materials in a secondary room. The Rainbow room Has expanded thanks to donors like you!

Please enjoy the pictures! Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sam

Cloud Decor and Carpets for the Calming Room

This year the students of our school and staff have the opportunity to use a new way to co-regulate thanks to generous and wonderful donors such as you. When I first saw that people had given to my project, I was so excited for this year and so were the students and staff!

Thank you so much for making this project possible because it will be used for years to come! We received our project materials in February. Students of all ages and grades have been using it often and feedback from staff has all be positive. The cloud décor and carpets really make this room come to life!

  • Composting, 3D printing, Self-Regulation, Oh MY! OT with Ms. Sam

    Funded Dec 31, 2023

This year the students of occupational therapy experienced project based learning through on-going long term projects focusing on their goals. When I first saw that people had given to "Composting, 3D printing, Self-Regulation, Oh MY! OT with Ms. Sam", I was so excited for this year and so were my students!

Thank you so much for making this project possible for all of my students and the future students that enter the OT room. We received our project materials towards the end of January. The students quickly set up the compost bin and began exploring and documenting progress. They composted bananas, mandarins and a paper towel. The students logged in the temperature results weekly and measured decomposing progress. By early March all fruit had composted and we were given the green light by Farmer Omar to add our compost to the school bin.

My students working on scissor skills improved their coordination and success with loop scissors. They were thrilled to make paper dolls that they could play with and bring home.

The 3-D printer, or as the kids call it "the toy maker" has been a work in progress. We are currently brainstorming ideas for toys to print for the end of year celebration.

Please enjoy the pictures from all projects! Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Sam
