All Aboard the Mrs. Cole Express

For the past ten years, the students in my classroom have performed The Polar Express play to audiences of peers and family members. It has become a favorite holiday tradition for my students, their families, and myself.

Needless to say, the props have become worn out and battered throughout the years. Because of your generous donations, we were able to take our beloved Polar Express play to a whole new level. The props made the scenery look wonderful and more realistic! The students were excited to stand by the "Conductor", "Boy", and "Train" cut outs for pictures and for scenes during the play. The RR crossing sign and its sound effects, as well as the railroad tracks, helped bring the story to life! The bells were perfect at the end of the play when the class held up their "Believe " velvet bags and rang the bells. The "Golden Train Tickets" were highly effective in making the students feel as though they were boarding the train just as the characters in the book used their tickets to board. Lastly, the Polar Express Trivia book was an excellent way to review the plot of the story in a fun and entertaining way!
