The counselor is always nearby, encouraging students to try new games, join in conversations, and feel included. Alternative Recess has become especially popular among students who feel overwhelmed by the busy playground or prefer a quieter, more relaxed environment. Some students even take the opportunity to talk to the counselor about any concerns, knowing it’s a safe and supportive space. This initiative transforms recess into an inclusive time for social connection, fun, and emotional well-being, making every student feel valued and comfortable.
