Technology Carnival

Funded Mar 10, 2024

Our Technology Carnival was a huge success and we had so much fun! With the items we were able to purchase with generous contributions and the technology we had in our classrooms, students were able to show off their knowledge in different subject areas, using many different kinds of technology.

Students researched the 50 states to create a "Race Across the States" game using mini-spheros and created green screen postcards with photos of the continents (social studies). They worked in teams to create a storyboard, make stop-motion animation short videos using Stik-Bots, and used Tracer Bots to create a sequence game (reading/writing). Students created their own Bee Bot mats similar to Candy Land with colored squares, answered math questions on their grade level and coded the bee bot game pieces to move to the next square (math). Using Makey Makey they created a fruit piano and simulate a kayak experience using a pool noodle, kayak, and arcade game simulator (science). In addition, the third grade class created their own Minecraft Carnival world with roller coasters and water slides for guests to explore.

When all of the learning was complete, students became the teachers and shared their knowledge with all grade level students in our school, teachers, and parents! What a great learning experience and wonderful opportunity! We appreciate your generosity in our project!”
