  • A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

    Funded Dec 25, 2024

    A Little Bit Of This and A Little Bit of That was inspired to be able to create and provide students and teachers with the opportunity to increase students learning. Teachers have a hard time supplying their classroom and students often suffer from this. With this project, my students have decodable books to increase their level, new chapter books to spark their interest, in addition to snacks to fill their tummies during reading, math and writing lessons. Our students are lucky to have supporters during this precious time in their lives. Thank you again!”

  • The Beauty of Books

    Thank you for the new materials. I have book bins and decodable books for my ICT classroom. In this classroom, we have a phonics center that will begin to use the decodable books to help students push their reading levels even farther than before.

    Our library will now be transformed during spring break and next year 3rd grade will be better than ever. The bins will give our library a new look that is sure to encourage our students to continue their joy for reading! Thank you again for helping my students and school community!”

  • Books Galore

    Let me start off by saying thank you for your gratitude with helping the community of Brownsville. Brownsville, Brooklyn is where I grew up and now I have the pleasure of giving back to my community, by helping students grow and reach their full potential. Often when coming from this community, the odds against us are greater than our counterparts. I'm always full of hope when donors choose to support our students. It gets us one step closer to closing the educational gaps.

    We can't wait to increase our reading levels and practice our reading strategies using different genres of texts and of interest. We're going to dive into some character studies using Ramona the Brave, analyzing figurative language in Goosebumps series, retell and identify the main idea of Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.

  • Flexible Seating Please

    Funded Dec 21, 2023

    Prior to becoming a full time teacher, I worked in a preschool where flexible seating was apart of the school's culture. I seen from then, on how the opportunity it gives students to increase their self confidence, as well as the motivation that comes from within to learn. My students were so excited when they saw the stools and expressed how eager they were to begin using them during our small group lessons.

    In my class the flexible seating is not only for the students but teachers as well. We whole heartedly appreciate all the kind donations. You made a difference in someone's life. How powerful is that !? Thank you again!”
